The Alta Via No.1, known as “the classic”, crosses the peaks of the Dolomites starting from Lake Braies, in the province of Bolzano, to Belluno, along a route of about 150 kilometers.
The route starts from the Dolomites of Braies and crosses the “Strada delle Dolomiti” overlooking the valley of Cortina d’Ampezzo from above, near the Cinque Torri and the Nuvolau.

Transalp
The hut is a stop/refreshment point for all the various routes of the mountain-bike tour Transalp Dolomiti.
It is one of the most classic routes, starting from the Sennes, Fanes and Braies Natural Park and winding under the Tofane. After Cianzopè, the route starts going up a rather demanding climb in the area of the 5 Torri.
Open Air Museum of the Great War
The Open-Air Museum of the Great War is a cultural and historical experience between Lagazuoi, 5 Torri and Sass de Stria. The museum area extends within a radius of 5 km and allows the visitor to learn about the different aspects of the Great War in the mountains: one of the most exciting hikes of the Dolomites.
In front of the Averau Refuge there are also 4 information panels that tell the story and events in Nuvolau Forcella during the First World War.
Dinners with jeep ride
For an unforgettable evening, we recommend our organized dinners, with off-road ascent and night descent: the starry sky at high altitude will provide a unique experience.
