How to get there
The Averau Mountain Hut is located in Forcella Nuvolau,in the area Lagazuoi – 5 Torri – Giau Pass,straddling this last point and the Falzarego pass, between Colle Santa Lucia and Cortina d’Ampezzo in Belluno Province. Rifugio Averau is NOT REACHABLE BY CAR.
Summer
During the summer you can park in Bai de Dones, Falzarego Pass, Giau Pass or at the Fedare Refuge and continue on foot or with the lift facilities.
WHERE TO PARK
From Cortina d’Ampezzo,via SR48 of the Dolomites towards Val Badia/Passo Falzarego. Climbing to Passo Falzarego from Cortina turn left after 12.5 km and park at Bai de Dones / Chairlift 5 Torri or continue to Passo Falzarego.
From Val Badia,via SR37 and SR24 of the Valparola Pass towards Cortina/Falzarego Pass. Arrived on the Falzarego pass park or continue on SR48 towards Cortina for 4.8 km, turn right and park at Bai de Dones / Chairlift 5 Torri.
From Alleghe,via SR203 to Caprile, then take SR20 to Selva di Cadore, then take SR638 to Giau Pass for 7 km. Park at Fedare Mountain Hut or continue to Giau Pass.

From Bai de Dones: Take mountain trail 425 and 439. Km 4 Elevation Difference 524m Travel time 2h 15 min
From Falzarego Pass: Take mountain trail 441. Km 3.8 Elevation Difference 312 m Travel time 1h 45 min
From Giau Pass: Take mountain trail 452. Km 2 Elevation Difference 177m Travel time 1h 45 min
From Fedare Refuge: Take mountain trail 464. Km 2.2 Elevation Difference 413 m Travel time 1h 45 min
From Rifugio 5 Torri: Take mountain trail 439. Km 1.7 Elevation Difference 276 m Travel time 50 min
From Rifugio Scoiattoli: Take mountain trail 439. Km 1 Elevation Difference 188m Travel time 30 min
From Rifugio Lagazuoi: take mountain trail 401 to Forcella Travenanzes, then mountain trail 402 to Falzarego Pass (or the tuunels of Lagazuoi or with cable lift of Lagazuoi or with Kaiserjager mountain trail) then take mountain trail 441. Km 6,5 Elevation difference 647 descent, 312 ascent Travel time 3 h 30 min.
From Andraz: Take mountain trail 441. Km 4.3 Elevation Difference 274 m Travel time 2 h
From Ponte di Ru Curto: Take mountain trail 437 to Rifugio Cinque Torri, then mountain trail 439. Km 3.9 Elevation Difference 718 m Travel time 2 h 45 min

Winter
During the winter it is possible to park in Bai de Dones, Falzarego Pass or at the Fedare Hut and continue with the ski facilities.
