A taste of the Dolomites

Whether it’s morning, afternoon or evening, there’s always something boiling in the kitchen of the Averau Mountain Hut with Sandrone and Paola at the stove. The delicate “Cappelli d’Alpino”, the “Cialsons” and the aromatic pheasant and broccoli timbale are some of the delights created by the encounter of the Ampezzo tradition with the tradition of the Friuli region.

The authenticity of our typical dishes, cooked with the greatest care, can only find a perfect match in the wine list selected by Matteo, house sommelier.

The cellar at 2413m

wine list reflecting a shared passion in the family, selected by Matteo, our house sommelier, and Sandrone, wine-lover of indisputable experience.

In the high-altitude cellar of the Averau Mountain Hut there are 170 fine labels, both Italian and European, selected with care to satisfy even the most enthusiastic wine-lover.

Two special selections are found within the Rifugio Averau wine list: the first named after the great master Giacomo Tachis and the second dedicated to Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT.
